Grace
Barrak creates original fine art in glass. Her blown
and torched-crafted work includes small sculpture, jewelry,
beads and vessels. Barrak works with varied themes including
sea life, insects and botanicals, and fantasy symbols.
Her combinations of selected glass, precious metals,
minerals and gems result in pieces that feature a glowing
luminosity, light refraction, and magnification. She
teaches workshops, accepts custom commissions and exhibits
her work at shows throughout Southern California.
Barrak
works in various themes and series. Her sea life
series features life-size conch shells, sea horses,
and baby octopus. The shells often have an interior
of infused metals that results in a luminous glow from
within.

Her
insect and botanical series features dragonflies,
miniature wings, butterflies and lotus, which is done
by embedding color inside clear glass. Her fantasy
symbol series includes heart, teardrop and geometric
formed pieces in fumed and transparent color.
She will sometimes encase a gem, opal or poridot inside
these pieces creating a magnifying effect and illuminated
detail. Barrak presents her pieces as vessels, sculpture,
beads, marbles and jewelry in her own metal settings.
She also creates corporate gift sets and commissioned
trophies which may include etchings and monograms.
Her work is contemporary and sometimes has references
to Art Nouveau.
